What is Chicago About?
Set amidst the razzle dazzle decadence of the 1920s, Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid a conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.
What songs are in Chicago?
The most famous songs in Chicago are “All That Jazz”, “Cell Block Tango”, “When You’re Good to Mama”, “We Both Reached for the Gun”, “Mister Cellophane” and “Hot Honey Rag.”
Is this the same show as the Broadway production?
YES! The tour director and tour choreographer are designated creatives that work with the New York City production using the original choreography from the 1975 production that was reimagined by Ann Reinking based on the choreography of Bob Fosse.
